Flowers and decorations at hotel and beach venues are arranged at the discretion of the venue. We are very happy to conduct your service whatever their arrangements, however flowers or other decorations should not be placed on the ceremony table itself, or anywhere that might disrupt the ceremony or constitute a danger to the wedding party or guests, such as in front of the alter or blocking an aisle.
If you are planning your own flowers or decorations at any of our Churches, please let our wedding coordinator know to ensure that they are sympathetic to the venue, to best enhance your day.
Flowers may not be placed on the alter at any of the Churches and all flowers and decorations must be removed immediately following your service. Permanent fixings are not permitted but, for example, bows or flowers that are placed at regular intervals along the entire length of the aisle can be attached with ribbon or string, (not tape), so that they can be removed easily and quickly without damaging any of the church furnishings.
The use of a runner is discouraged because it is a potential safety hazard increasing the risk of tripping, especially if the venue is unfamiliar to many of the party.
As an active parish church, Ayia Kyriaki may already have plants, flowers or hangings in place which reflect the seasons of the liturgical year. These must remain in place but you are welcome to add your own temporary decorations where they compliment the existing arrangements. Our wedding coordinator can assist you with any questions you have regarding this.
